Comments:~ Fingertip began in August 2007, when the ex-drummer from fine dining, John Wood decided to give drums a rest and take up piano. Enlisting the help from his old band mate Kyle Thomas (ex-bassist of Fine Dining) to play bass. The two jammed for a few months writing some songs. The two members wanted to expand there sound to a full band set up. They asked good friend and old band mate of John’s from Without Reason, Matthew Finnie (Ten Stories High, The Newmatics) if he fancied a few jams to which he agreed. After a few jams Matthew joined the band full time. Now with more or less a full line up the band decided they needed a guitarist to complete the line up. The Band asked Glen Lauder (En Evant, The Sea Monkeys) to join, he accepted.

Now with a full line-up the band wrote a bunch of songs and jammed the old ones John and Kyle had written before the rest of the band joined. The band make a recording of there first ever song written together called “Caught In It” the song provided to be a local hit, without the band ever playing live. In October 2007, Glen left the band, to focus on other projects. The band now back to three members, where on the search for a new guitarist. There search lead them to an old friend, John Findlay who accepted there offer to join the band. After John F joined the band they spent the next few months jamming and bringing there new guitarist up to speed.

December 21st 2007 seen the band make there live debut and since then have had over 14 gigs, with no signs of slowing down, with a bunch of shows already booked for the next few months. The band started writing new material in January 2008 and began playing them at live shows to a warm response. One of these new songs called “Slow Down” was to prove to be a hit on Local Radio. XFM Scotland chose the song to be included in there Weekly Band of the week competition. The band won with a land slide of votes. Soon after, the band went into the studio to record there debut E.P. called “Variations Of Me” a concept E.P. about finding your own way through life.

In April 2008 the band headlined at the Edinburgh Liquid Room, a place were the band had seen many of there favourite bands perform before. The band are consistly writing new material and playing gigs around Scotland, with no sign of slowing down anytime soon, this band look set for a successful future.
