Young Runaways came about as primary songwriters Phillips and Pinfield began writing a deluge of new songs. The band today is the crystallisation of nearly a decade of friendship between the band members, who have been through school and university together. A shared interest in British beat bands and giant vocal harmonies has influenced their sound, along with years of playing together in dusty attics.
Most recently the band were selected for the final showcase of the Glastonbury New Talent competition. This summer the band made their Glastonbury debut, playing the Leftfield Stage.
With the new record complete, and a whole catalogue of material in the can for next one, Young Runaways are looking forward, ready for their busiest year yet.
