Unwilling to settle in the shadows, INDY Awards 2008 nominees Services Rendered Club continues to garner recognition and reverence in London’s underground music scene. Brixton-born and Balham-bred, the enigmatic quartet has progressed from acoustic infancy to electric adolescence since its inception in 2005. With persistent song writing and relentless live performances, the "sun-drenched indie pop rock" of 2006 has developed a "dark edge" and vivacity that reverberates with endurance to its audience. SRC has become:
Ben Sillince – vocals, rhythm & lead guitar, bass Nath Carter – vocals, rhythm guitar, bass Matt Curley – lead guitar, bass John Welch – drums
And with the digital release of the band’s eponymous debut EP on April 14th, 2008 looks set to be a year of limitless possibilities.
Services Rendered Club roam the great divide between pop and rock. At once harmonious and discordant, this gang of pre-apocalyptic soundsmiths stir up enough energy to be officially labelled as Neighbourhood Threats, whilst still managing to worm their way into your subconscious and have you humming along unconsciously as you take a shower. SRC invoke an end-times ambiance that refuses to be fingerprinted, classified, bar-coded or biometrically tagged. This is zeitgeist music that spits in the face of the piss weak pap that masquerades as real emotional rock.

SRC have a dark edge, different to a lot of the stuff that's about at the mo.
Marsha Shandur - Xfm
Services Rendered Club burn brighter than most other bands in the hell pit of the unsigned music scene. With a melancholic rawness that hints at early Soundgarden they fill the stage with confidence and quality seldom seen in such a new band.
Shazz Andrew - Feedme Music Promotions
Sun-drenched indie pop rock with a nod to the Everly Bros tight harmonies, Sub Pop swampy guitar and trace elements of Radiohead. Services Rendered Club are a time warped hybrid - hummable and summery but with a low down dirty grind.
Marianne Hyatt – Singer/Songwriter & Promoter
One of my faves of 2007 is Services Rendered Club. Tight, energetic indie/rock/powerpop led by captivating vocal harmonies. Can't wait for the summer to get on the motorway, roll back the roof of the car and crank these boys up loud.
