Pop-punk outfit FREAK CIRCUS broke onto the Dorset live circuit in April 2000, quickly establishing a fervent following on the back of high energy performances. Their 'Custardy Battle' and 'Porcelain Girl' CDs soon followed, described by the local press as "robustly melodic originals - twisted pop gems - real live punk rock for the new millennium" and "profoundly enjoyable". The Dorset Echo commented, "Best of all, Freak Circus can boast a wry, dark sense of humour - a commodity which is in sadly short supply on the pop music front these days, as the majority of current artistes have a regrettable tendency to disappear up their own precious bottoms, which is frankly where many of them belong". This sense of humour extends to their live performances, with the Wolf Man renowned for his karate kicks and spastic drunken dancing! That said, Freak Circus are no novelty act - they are a tight and talented musical maelstrom, compared by their local fan base to such bands as Foo Fighters, Green Day and Lit.
