DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR are an original four piece rock band. The band was formed in early 2004 and comprises of the following:- Eddie - Lead Vocals and Bass Guitar Mike - Lead Guitar and Vocals Chris - Drums Les - Lead Guitar and Vocals All of the band members are 'time-served' musicians with experience of live performance all over the UK. Delusions of Grandeur started life back in 2003 as a nameless band spawned from the split of a respected rock covers band. The guitarists Mike Nodwell and Les Norton were fed up with playing ‘other peoples’ music and started the project together with Chris Jones (Drums). A period of struggle followed as the band developed, with Les, Mike and Chris trying to find a vocalist and bassist with a common musical direction. They continued writing and rehearsing as they searched. It wasn’t until early 2004 when an old friend of Les and Mike’s, who had been away doing other things for a while, came to listen to the project. Eddie Devlin, another lead guitarist/vocalist with a huge amount of cover band experience, was overwhelmed with what he heard. He also had a personal passion to be a vocalist/bassist in a band. Eddie joined the project immediately and the rest is history! Delusions of Grandeur recorded their first demo in November 04. The demo was recorded in order to allow venues to hear them and offer them gigs, however in the few months since recording the demo this band has really started to take off. The demo has given them more than they anticipated in such a short time. They have played the White Room at the White Hart in Warrington with excellent feedback. They have played a live music showcase in Penketh, Warrington where they shared the stage with 4 other acts and received hugely positive feedback from an audience of over 300 people They also had an overwhelming demand for copies of their demo. They have had airplay on KCR radio on ‘The Pool with Dave Monks’. They have have played live in the studio in Feb 05 and conducted a live interview. They handed their CD into the Barfly in Liverpool with the hope of playing there in 2005. Within six days they played there to a hugely appreciative audience. They will be returning there soon. They handed their CD into Liverpool’s Juice FM and were selected within two weeks to appear on the ‘Next Big Thing’. They had 3 tracks played on air and conducted a successful interview hosted by Richard Morris. Delusions of Grandeur stand for live performance and are developing their fan base through regular gigs and writing and recording more material. They hope to achieve more airplay on local and national radio and obtain management in early 2005. We have just played in the final of the Emergenza contest. Come and see us soon, check out our dates regularly!
