Karen Mulcahey was born in Liverpool and raised on a council estate in Warrington, England. Even in these formative years Karen’s unholy voice and her obsession with music was obvious to anyone who met her. It was at this early stage in her life that Karen learned the basics of the guitar and began to write her own songs. She was brought up on Rock’n’Roll / Blues and later discovered folk, jazz and early ‘crooner tunes.’ As a teenager Karen could often be found busking with her guitar by the markets in Warrington.
Over the last two years her song – writing has become unwieldly and Karen has been gigging her original material around the North with excellent guitarist Luke Pepper.
Karen’s work has received critical acclaim from both musicians and audiences alike. Still in her 20’s, Karen has been praised for her refreshing sound and thoughtful, gripping lyrics that suggest maturity beyond her years. It’s time for the world to discover this unique and inspiring talent.
Karen is currently booking a national tour and is set to play the Edinburgh Fringe Festival again and the new 'Arts for Life' festival in Zambia. Karen's Recent gigs include Love Music, Hate Racism concert, The Fez Club, The Broadwalk and the Rockingham Arms.
