Yes, you lucky, lucky people, even though you all thought they'd retired! "Rockin Ray" and Johnny "Guitar" Sequins have finally launched their fabulous new act in the face of almost insurmountable odds (old age - lethargy - addiction - mysterious non-tropical social ailments - laziness - bankruptcy - Johnny's pension plan - Ray's CCJ's - etc. etc.) please welcome!!!
They've really cracked it this time! this is pure power punk at its very best, featuring songs from "The Skids", "The Rutts", "The Ramones", "Rancid", "The Buzzcocks", "The Dead Kennedy's" and many more. Johnny and Ray faithfully reproduce with all the live excitement and out and out gonads of your favorite punk tunes from 1975 Jam to 2003 post grunge American punk.
They have just started writing their own material and anyone remembering the now legendary 'SHAVEN HAVEN' will know the excellence of this Jagger/Richards, Lennon/McCartney, Rogers/Hammerstein, Holland/Dozer/Holland, Bacarach/David, Redding/Cropper bashing partnership. As Johnny was over-heard saying at the Embassy club under the gyrating hips of several curvaceous clubby babes " I'd be as famous as them if I'd sold as many records!" Massey/Pritchard - remember this song writing partnership! - watch this space.
The search for a new rhythm section was long and arduous for the boys. Many were tried - many rejected. Even drummers with proven pedigrees such as Steve 'BH' Piper were left by the wayside under the relentless pressure meted out by the physical demands of the job! Good luck 'BH' we love you! Then - a stroke of luck - Paul 'one note' Pope after having been re-assimilated into normal society after a youth spent in the pool-halls and crack dens of Medway was physically marched to the shop and forced to by a bass guitar. Took to it like the proverbial duck to water - excellent! The boys spotted Craig "strap-on" Strachan playing in a "Stars on 45" tribute band and immediately saw his potential. The extravagant promises of unlimited sex and foreign tours turned his head and yes - he's in! Brilliant! Probably the finest drummer in the South East of England.
Look out for this punk extravaganza at your local rock + pop venue, bike rallies and all the usual haunts, SEE YA AT THE GIG!
