Comments:~ There were these five guys who didnt know each other...they had some musical instruments which were rarely played. One day they got together and started to play songs they all liked.....it was a right mess, it sounded terrible. Shortly after this Tommy the bass player left to make "serious money". Dave (Vocals), Mike (Drums) DJ (Sax) and Sean carried on practicing until another Bass Player could be found.

Then Rob from the planning dept called to say he would give it a go on bass.....from a shakey start, things got a little better....
We play a wide range of songs from Queen to Elvis and The Clash. We recently played our first gig (see gigs)and are hoping to play a few more in the coming months. Email SEan direct on sean007@ntlworld.com

The ethos of the band is lets practice a little less than expected, enjoy the music, play our first few gigs for free (for charity), and most of all have a laff... we may be grumpy but its funky !!!

Review On Grumpy Old Blokes : Grumpy review of Paignton Rugby Club 3/4/04

It was a wet and windy Saturday night. The sort of night you want to stay in and watch Casualty on the telly.

Well I'm glad I made the effort to go out to the Rugby Club, as the GOB's were great. With the first song 'Grumpy Old Song', written by the band, they had people up dancing. They continued their first set, finishing with 'Feel Like Making Love'.

The second set began with a lovely mellow rendition of 'Summertime'. This then went into a great session of lots of well-known songs. By the time the Band played its medley of Elvis songs it seemed as though the whole club was up dancing. The band was so good they had to do two encores, the audience
wanted more but as the old adage goes 'leave them wanting more'.
