Disappointed that every new local band sounded like all the old local bands, Turbo Shandy decided to try something radical and not play heavy metal or punk (trust me this is radical for South Wales). Playing every style from smooth lounge tunes to uplifting progressive rock, their sound ably shows off the vocal talent of their classically trained female vocalist, Rachel. With the nifty fretwork of guitarist, Phil, the grove stylings of bassist, Foster and the outrageous fashion of drummer Disco Stu, Turbo Shandy are a sight to behold. Named after the drink of the same name (half a strong lager and a bottle of alchopop, occasionally topped off with a vodka or two if you're that way inclined). Their gigs are well know for being a great night out, well what do you expect after six pints of Turbo Shandy?
